SIGMA Equipment
MelKay’s largest solar installation to date.
SIGMA Equipment’s solar power system in Evansville, IN, includes rooftop solar panels and inverter and distribution power panels. At over 660,000 square feet of climate-controlled warehouse space, this is our largest solar installation to date. This project produces 1 MegaWatt DC of power, or the same electricity consumed by 400 to 900 homes in a year.
Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation
Solar field allows school to reinvest savings.
The Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation identified Plaza Park International Prep Academy and Southern Indiana Career and Technical Center (SICTC) as the choices for a solar field installation based on the buildings’ size, energy usage, and space available on campus. The Plaza solar field produces 560kw DC while the SICTIC solar field produces 870kw DC. In one year, these solar fields produce energy equivalent to the usage for 161 homes, 1.6 million pounds of coal burned, and 519 tons of waste recycled instead of dumped in a landfill.
Evansville Regional Airport
The largest solar parking canopy in the Midwest.
Evansville Regional Airport’s state-of-the-art solar parking canopy produces 1,338kw DC, making it the second largest solar parking canopy in the U.S. and the largest in the Midwest. It supplies 50 percent of the power used in the airport’s terminal, which is equivalent to 60 homes annually. This solar energy initiative is a creative solution that doubles as a passenger amenity.
