On every MelKay project, our team members are subject to conducting weekly safety audits, safety meetings, and daily safe work plans. Supervisors, foreman, and employees understand that they are held accountable for their safety and the safety of others, and the whole team is encouraged to participate in all safety pre-planning activities before work begins each day.

Our first priority is the safety and health of our team members. To ensure the wellbeing of our employees, MelKay has a full-time safety department with team members who hold the following certifications:

  •  OSHA 500

  •  Qualified Rigger Trainer

  •  Qualified Signal Person Trainer

  •  Aerial Lift Trainer

  •  CPR-First Aid & AED

  •  Scaffold Competent Person Erector & Inspector

We also require that each tradesperson receives CPR-First Aid & AED training, and that the electrical trade receives NFPA 70E Arc Flash training during our annual safety training seminar. MelKay is also a certified partner with CCS and is part of ISNET, Avetta, and Veriforce.
